Hi @B-S710,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like the .text file format might be causing the issue. Most HP printers recognize common formats like .pdf, .docx, .txt, or image files for printing. To get around this, you can try one of these solutions.
Convert the File: Change the file extension from .text to .txt. To do this:
- Rename the file by right-clicking on it, selecting "Rename," and changing .text to .txt.
- Once renamed, try printing again to see if your HP printer appears as an option.
Use Google Drive: Since you saved it to Google Drive, you can open the file in Google Docs.
- Open the .text file in Google Docs by right-clicking on it in Google Drive and selecting Open with > Google Docs.
- Once open, go to File > Print or press Ctrl + P. Your printer should show as an option if it’s connected properly.
Convert to PDF: If the above options don't work, you can save the file as a PDF, which most HP printers support:
- Open the .text file in a text editor (like Notepad or Google Docs) and save/export it as a PDF.
- Then try printing the PDF file.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
