HP OfficeJet 6958 All-in-One Printer

I am trying to connect my printer to my wireless network but it states that it is OFF.

Can someone guide me/help me connect it, please?

Thank you for your response Rachel.

I was able to connect to wifi. Thank you but now I have another issue.

I have an error that reads - Cannot print. Connect printer to update HP Instant Ink status.

I tried to do a Print Test but it did not work. I got the above message.

What do you think? Can you guide me with this?

Hi @NicoDiaz,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

To connect your HP OfficeJet 6958 printer to your wireless network, follow these steps:

Turn on the Wireless on the Printer:

  • First, ensure the wireless signal on the printer is turned on. You can check this by looking at the wireless icon on the printer's control panel. If it's off, you might need to press the wireless button or navigate through the printer's menu to turn it on.

Use the Printer’s Touchscreen:

  • Navigate to the printer's touchscreen and open the Wireless Setup Wizard. This is typically found under the "Setup", "Network", or "Wireless Settings" menu.

Select Your Network:

  • Within the Wireless Setup Wizard, the printer will search for available networks. Select your home network from the list of available networks.

Enter the Wi-Fi Password:

  • You'll need to enter your network password. Be sure to enter it carefully as it is case-sensitive.

Confirm and Connect:

  • After entering the password, confirm and allow the printer to connect to the network. This may take a few moments.

Print a Test Page:

  • Once connected, try printing a test page or a network configuration page to ensure everything is set up correctly. This can usually be done from the printer’s control panel under the "Tools" or "Reports" section.

If the wireless signal was previously turned off and you are unable to turn it on or navigate the menu successfully, you might want to consult the user manual for your specific model or check if there are any physical or software locks that prevent wireless functionality.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
