Recently moved to a 5G network and my printer, while finding the modem, won't connect. Something to do with the 2.4 network configuration maybe?

The older printers can only support 2,4GHz wireless band.

Is there any way to configure the printer on the router to read 2.4?

If supported by your router model you can enable the 2,4GHz band, it's probably disabled by the factory setting of the router. Check routers user manual for details.
