Hi @EdE80,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

A blinking amber light on an HP 6000 printer, such as the Envy series, usually indicates a problem related to the printer's hardware or power supply. Here are a few steps you can follow to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the issue:

Check the Power Supply:

  • Ensure the printer's power cord is securely connected to both the printer and the power outlet.
  • Try plugging the printer into a different power outlet to rule out any issues with the outlet itself.

Inspect the Printer:

  • Look for any visible signs of damage or obstruction inside the printer. Make sure there is no paper jam or debris that could be causing the printer to malfunction.

Reset the Printer:

  • Turn off the printer.
  • Unplug the power cord from the back of the printer.
  • Wait at least 60 seconds before plugging the power cord back in and turning the printer on. This can help reset any error states in the hardware.

Check the Ink Cartridges:

  • Sometimes, a blinking amber light can indicate an issue with the ink cartridges. Open the printer and check if the cartridges are installed correctly and securely.
  • Replace any cartridges that are empty or appear to be malfunctioning.

Update Printer Firmware:

  • Check if there are any firmware updates available for your printer model. You can do this by visiting the HP website, entering your printer model, and downloading any recommended updates.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
