@Cre8ivQuality, Welcome to HP Support Community. 👋

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP Smart Tank 6001 All-in-One printer is showing as Default, Offline, follow these steps to bring it back online:

Check Printer Connection

  • If using Wi-Fi, ensure the printer is connected to the same network as your computer.
    • Print a Wireless Network Test Report (press and hold the Wi-Fi button until the Information button blinks, then release).
  • If using USB, try a different port or cable.
  • If using Ethernet, check the cable connection.

Set Printer Online (Windows)

  1. Open Control PanelDevices and Printers.
  2. Right-click your HP Smart Tank 6001 and select See what’s printing.
  3. In the new window, click Printer (top-left) and uncheck Use Printer Offline.

Restart Printer & PC

  • Turn off the printer, unplug it for 30 seconds, then turn it back on.
  • Restart your computer.

Set Printer as Default

  1. Go to Control PanelDevices and Printers.
  2. Right-click your printer and select Set as default printer.

Run HP Print and Scan Doctor

Update Printer Drivers

  • Download the latest HP Smart Tank 6001 driver from HP support website.
  • Install and restart the system.

Restart Print Spooler (Windows)

  1. Press Win + R, type services.msc, and hit Enter.
  2. Scroll down and find Print Spooler.
  3. Right-click it and select Restart.

Reinstall the Printer

  1. Go to Control PanelDevices and Printers.
  2. Right-click the printer and select Remove device.
  3. Reinstall using the latest HP Smart app or HP driver software.
