@ljldog21, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding Inputting Special Characters on Samsung Xpress SL-M2070FW!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
To input special characters such as $ when configuring the WiFi setup on your Samsung Xpress SL-M2070FW, follow these instructions:
- Start the WiFi setup process on your printer and navigate to the password input screen.
- On the screen where you enter your WiFi password, look for a special character or symbol button on the keyboard display.
- If the printer keyboard does not display special characters automatically, you may need to find a button that switches between different types of keyboards, such as letters, numbers, and symbols.
- Once you locate the special character section, find and select the $ symbol.
- Enter the remaining characters of your password as usual.
Hope this helps!
Take care, and have an amazing day!

Unfortunately there is no special character key, and there are 8 symbols available - four as part of the number 1 key ( @ / . ' ) and four as part of the number 0 key ( & + - , )
Other numbers have the alphabet - example the number 2 ( A B C a b c 2 )
The only non number keys, # and * yield themselves.
Any other ideas? Thank you in advance.

Hi @ljldog21,
Thanks for the follow-up and that detailed breakdown—it really helps!
You're absolutely right. On the Samsung Xpress SL-M2070FW, the on-device keyboard is limited, and unfortunately, it does not support entering certain special characters like $ directly.
Here are a couple of workarounds you can try:
Change your WiFi password temporarily to exclude the $ symbol (you can always revert it later once you're connected).
Use the WPS Push Button method if your router supports it—this skips password entry altogether:
Press the WPS button on your router.
Within 2 minutes, press the WPS button on your printer (or navigate to WPS setup through Menu > Network > Wireless > WPS).
I know it’s a bit of a workaround, but that’s the limitation of the device's input method.
Hope this helps you get connected! Let me know if you need help with changing router settings or WPS steps.
