Hi @Caz1958,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
To remove photos that appear in your HP Smart app but are not in your gallery, you can follow these steps.
Removing Photos from the HP Smart App:
Open the HP Smart App: Launch the HP Smart app on your device.
Navigate to the Photos Section: Depending on your device and app version, there might be a section for photos or recent files.
Select the Photos: Look for an option to select or manage photos. This could be represented by checkboxes, long-pressing on a photo, or an edit/manage button.
Delete the Photos: Once the photos are selected, look for a delete option. This might be an icon of a trash bin or an option in a menu.
Ensuring Photos are Not in the HP Smart App:
Check Recent Scans: Sometimes, the HP Smart app saves scans and prints in its own storage. Make sure these are not recent scans that were saved automatically.
Clear App Data (if necessary): If the photos persist and you are sure they are not needed, you can clear the app data. Note that this will remove all data from the HP Smart app, so proceed with caution.
For Android:
- Go to Settings > Apps > HP Smart.
- Tap on Storage and then Clear Data or Clear Storage.
For iOS:
- You might need to delete and reinstall the app if there is no direct option to clear data.
Check Cloud Accounts: If you have connected any cloud storage services (like Google Drive, Dropbox, etc.) to your HP Smart app, ensure these photos are not being pulled from there.
Reinstall the HP Smart App: As a last resort, uninstall and reinstall the HP Smart app to ensure any temporary files or data causing this issue are removed.
By following these steps, you should be able to remove the unwanted photos from the HP Smart app.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
