I cannot configure the printer for WiFi access because it wants an administrative password. I've used both HP Utility and HP Smart, but neither will proceed with the setup until I provide the password. This printer hasn't been used since the pre-COVID days, and I have NO IDEA what I set the password to.
I would just like to reset the whole printer back to factory defaults. I've gone through all the options in the forums and nothing resets the printer to defaults. Oddly, on my Envy 4500 there's actually a menu item to do this. It really shouldn't be so difficult (or secretive.)
So, I need to either reset the EWS admin password, or do a factory reset on the whole thing.

Welcome to the HP Support Community.
We'll have to perform a reset on the Printer for this. I have sent you a private message, for more details that cannot be shared in a public post.
Please do check your inbox on the forums page for the private message.
Let me know if this helps.

That didn't help. This is a 3755. It has eight buttons, not four. I tried your instructions anyway, but they didn't work. How do I factory reset an HP 3755? Actual working instructions for this particular model would be nice.

This might require one on one interaction to fix the issue.
I request you to talk to HP support.
They might have multiple options to help you with this.
- Click on this link - https://support.hp.com/us-en/contact-hp?openCLC=true
- Select the country.
- Enter the serial of your device.
- Select the country from the drop-down.
- Click on "Show Options".
- Fill the web-form. A case number and phone number will now populate for you.
I hope that helps.
To thank me for my efforts to help you, please mark my post as an accepted solution so that it benefits several others.
Cheers.
