@Dev1966, Welcome to HP Support Community,
Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue
To reset the admin password on your HP LaserJet Pro MFP 3301sdw, follow these general steps:
Step One: Access the Embedded Web Server (EWS)
Obtain the Printer's IP Address:
- On the printer's control panel, press the OK button to display the Home screen.
- Use the arrow buttons to navigate to Setup > Network Setup > General Settings.
- Select Show IP Address and press Yes to view the printer's IP address or host name.
Open the EWS:
- On your computer, open a web browser.
- Type the printer’s IP address or hostname in the browser's address bar (e.g., http://192.168.1.1).
Step Two: Change the Administrator Password
Log In with the Factory-Set Default PIN:
- On the EWS Home page, click the Settings tab.
- In the left navigation pane, click Security, then select Password Settings.
- Enter the factory-set default PIN located on a label inside the cartridge access door and click Submit.
Set a New Password:
- Enter a new password in the Password field.
- Ensure that the password contains three of the following: uppercase letters, lowercase letters, numbers, special characters.
- Enter the new password again in the Confirm Password field.
- Click Apply to save the new password setting.
Considerations:
- Ensure the password is noted for future reference. If the password is lost or forgotten, you will have to perform a factory reset procedure.
- After configuring a new password, use this new password to access the EWS printer settings.
For additional guidance, refer to the specific documentation related to your printer model on the HP website.
