My printer is installed, online, connected to my PC, but when I try to print a document I get an error.  The virtual assistant is useless.

Welcome to the HP User Community.

With the exception of the Virtual Agent, we are all human beings.

True - Virtual Agent is not true AI and is limited as to what it can answer.

I understand that is not what you are asking.

You want to speak with someone on the phone, yes?

The Community does not provide phone service or chat.

All our correspondence is handled through the Community tools - messages posted in the Community.

Yeah, but I want to talk to someone...

If you do find someone on the Internet who will talk to you, it is not HP and it is not the HP Community.

Be Wary of finding help and clicking...

Do NOT give out your private information - do not believe claims you need security software - do not be a victim.

What about HP Support?

HP Support does not provide software support as a rule.

Help with Software is not covered by the standard "comes with the printer" contract...

That said,  we do not speak for HP.

If you printer is In Warranty, and you want to submit a case to HP and ask, you can do that.

Registered Devices in Warranty:  Select a method and contact HP Support…

Open website  HP World-Wide Support

Select your region and follow the prompts

What else?

You can certainly submit a new question about the subject for which you would like help.

We work for free and yes, we are people, too.

If the problem is one that one of us recognize from your full description of the problem, you might get an answer.

There are few of us compared to the number of questions - we do try to help.

Reminder

When you submit your question to the Community,

  • Provide as much information as possible about the product, for example, the exact model of the device and the Operating System
  • Tell us what you have tried to fix the problem.
  • As best you can, describe the issue for which you are seeking our help.

Post New Question

For example... Include this important information in your Question

  • If you mention what you have tried to fix the problem on your own, that helps.
  • When you submit your question, identify what type of error you are seeing - is there a description?  An error number?
  • Tell us whether you have the full driver printer software installed.
  • Tell us which printer software / application you are using.
  • Mention when the problem started - For example, did the problem start after a recent Windows Update?

Thank you for participating in the HP Community.

Our Community is comprised of volunteers - people who own and use HP devices.
