Hi @heatber,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP OfficeJet 3830 All-in-One Printer is connected to Wi-Fi but isn't showing as connected to HP for the Instant Ink service, you'll need to re-establish the connection. Here's how you can do that.
Check Printer's Network Connection:
- Make sure your printer is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your computer or mobile device. You can check the network settings on the printer’s control panel to confirm this.
Reset Network Settings (if necessary):
- On the printer's control panel, go to Setup or Network settings.
- Find the option for Network Setup or Restore Network Settings and follow the prompts. This will reset the network settings and allow you to reconnect to your Wi-Fi network.
Reconnect Printer to HP:
- On your computer or mobile device, go to the HP Smart app or HP Connected website (hpconnected.com).
- Sign in with your HP account credentials. If you don’t have an account, you’ll need to create one.
- Follow the instructions to add your printer. This will involve selecting your printer model and connecting it to your HP account.
Re-enroll in Instant Ink:
- Once your printer is connected to your HP account, go to the HP Instant Ink website or open the HP Smart app.
- Sign in to your Instant Ink account and re-enroll your printer if necessary.
Update Printer Firmware:
- Ensure your printer’s firmware is up to date. You can usually update firmware through the printer’s control panel or by using the HP Smart app.
Restart Devices:
- If you're still having trouble, try restarting your printer, router, and computer or mobile device.
These steps should help re-establish the connection between your printer and HP, allowing you to resume receiving benefits from HP Instant Ink.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
