HP DeskJet 2710 All-in-One Printer

Dear Sir/Madam,  i recently changed location temporarily so i need to add a new wifi connection which works automatically with my hp 2710 deskjet with instant ink subscription.  But i m having difficulty in doing so. On pressing network and cancel button which online forums suggests it starts to blink the switch off on button but nothing happens subsequently. How can i change the network setting at my subscription plus at printer hardware level without deleting instant ink subscription. Kindly advise

@Amitjassi, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
To change the Wi-Fi connection for your HP DeskJet 2710 while keeping your Instant Ink subscription active, follow these steps:

Restore Network Settings on the Printer

Since your printer is still connected to the previous network, you must reset its network settings to allow it to connect to a new Wi-Fi.

  1. Turn on the printer.
  2. Press and hold the Wireless (📶) button and the Cancel () button on the printer for 5 seconds until the Power button starts blinking.
    • This resets the network settings.

Reconnect the Printer to the New Wi-Fi

Now, you need to connect the printer to your new network:

Using HP Smart App (Recommended)

  1. Download/Update HP Smart on your computer or mobile phone.
    • Download HP Smart if you haven't already.
  2. Open HP Smart and click on Add a Printer.
  3. Follow the on-screen instructions to connect the printer to your new Wi-Fi.
  4. Once connected, print a test page to confirm the connection.

Using WPS (If Router Supports It)

  1. Press and hold the Wireless (📶) button on the printer for 3 seconds until it starts blinking.
  2. Press the WPS button on your router within 2 minutes.
  3. Wait for the Wireless light on the printer to become solid, indicating a successful connection

Update HP Instant Ink Account (If Needed)

Your Instant Ink subscription is linked to the printer, not the Wi-Fi, so it should automatically update once the printer is online. However, you may need to update the new Wi-Fi location in your HP account:

  1. Log in to your HP Instant Ink account.
  2. Go to Account SettingsPrinters → Select your printer.
  3. If required, update the network settings or shipping address (for Instant Ink deliveries).

Restart Everything

  • Restart your printer, router, and device to ensure a smooth connection.
  • Try printing a document to verify if Instant Ink services are working.

If you still have issues, try removing and re-adding the printer in HP Smart and ensure that your new Wi-Fi has 2.4 GHz enabled.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
