To connect your HP LaserJet Pro M148 printer to a Wi-Fi network, follow these steps.
Using the HP Smart App
Download and Install HP Smart App:
- Go to the HP Smart website or the app store on your mobile device (Apple App Store or Google Play Store).
- Download and install the HP Smart app.
Prepare the Printer:
- Ensure the printer is turned on and in a ready state.
- Ensure the printer is not connected to any USB or Ethernet cable.
Connect to Wi-Fi:
- Open the HP Smart app on your device.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to add a new printer.
- Select your printer model (HP LaserJet Pro M148).
- The app will search for available printers. Select your printer from the list.
- Follow the prompts to connect the printer to your Wi-Fi network. You will need to enter your Wi-Fi network name (SSID) and password.
Using the Printer Control Panel
Prepare the Printer:
- Turn on your printer and ensure it is in a ready state.
- Ensure the printer is not connected to any USB or Ethernet cable.
Access Wireless Setup:
- On the printer control panel, press the Wireless button (or the Wi-Fi icon).
- Navigate to the Wireless Setup Wizard using the arrow buttons.
Connect to Wi-Fi:
- The Wireless Setup Wizard will search for available networks.
- Select your Wi-Fi network from the list of available networks.
- Enter your Wi-Fi password when prompted.
- The printer will attempt to connect to your Wi-Fi network. Once connected, a confirmation message will appear.
Using WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup)
Prepare the Printer and Router:
- Ensure both the printer and the wireless router support WPS.
Activate WPS on Printer:
- On the printer control panel, press and hold the Wireless button until it starts blinking. This indicates that WPS mode is active.
Activate WPS on Router:
- Within two minutes, press the WPS button on your wireless router.
- The printer will automatically connect to the Wi-Fi network.
By following these methods, you should be able to connect your HP LaserJet Pro M148 to your Wi-Fi network.
