Common problems for Connectivity Issues
We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about Printer Wi-Fi, Connectivity Issues and Offline Status. Check out this link: HP printer is offline or unavailable.
HP Recommended

I have a problem with the HP laserjet M15w. I have wifi boosters and a complicated network as far as I'm concerned (I'm not IT savvy and had it all setup for me). I need to connect a HP laserjet M15w printer wirelessly to my network but I have wifi boosters. The printer status is showing the wifi direct as disabled and also the network name is showing as my old internet in my old property. I have searched online and wasted nearly 3 hours trying to connect this printer. I have managed to connect it using HP smart and a USB -B wired connection but need a wireless connection. Please help.

Hi @SKS2512,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I understand how frustrating it is when your HP LaserJet M15w worked before, but now refuses to connect wirelessly after a network change with Wi-Fi boosters. Let’s go through the steps to get your printer back online:

Recommended Steps – Connect the HP LaserJet M15w to the New Wi-Fi

1. Restore Wi-Fi Setup Mode

Your printer is still holding the old network details, so we need to reset it:

  • Press and hold the Wireless button on the printer for at least 5 seconds until the light starts blinking.
  • This activates Wi-Fi setup mode for 2 hours.

2. Use HP App

3. Check Router Settings

  • Ensure 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi is enabled (LaserJet M15w does not support 5 GHz only).
  • If you have Wi-Fi boosters or mesh, make sure the printer connects to the main SSID, not a guest network.
  • Disable MAC address filtering or add the printer’s MAC address to the allowed list.

4. Update Printer Firmware

Once connected:

  • Open HP App > Printer Settings > Advanced Settings > Printer Update.
  • Install any available updates.

5. If Still Stuck

  • Print a Network Configuration Page by pressing the Information button.
  • Enter the printer’s IP address in a browser to access the Embedded Web Server (EWS).
  • From there, you can manually configure Wi-Fi settings.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
