HP DeskJet 2632 All-in-One Printer

I can connect directly to the webserver in my HP Deskjet 2632 printer using its IPv4 address by typing http://192.168.0.189/ in the address bar of my browser, Microsoft Edge. I would like to transition my network from IPv4 over to IPv6, but for some reason it doesn't work when I use the printer's IPv6 addresses. I have tried both [edit]

where XXXX:XXXX is inserted instead of some of my printers real IPv6 numbers for privacy reasons.

Can you tell me how to connect to the webserver in my HP Deskjet 2632 printer using its IPv6 address, please?

Hi @Steffen2023,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd like to help!

Perform the following tasks in the order given. Use the printer after each task to see if the issue is resolved.

Make sure your printer supports Web Services

Check for a Web Services or ePrint icon to make sure your printer supports Web Services.

Turn on the printer.

Look for a Web Services or ePrint icon on the control panel.

If the control panel does not have the icon or you are unsure if your printer is supported, go to Mobile printing solutions for more information.

If your printer is not supported, consider purchasing a new printer that has the features you require.

Click here for the remaining steps.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
Please click “Accepted Solution” if you feel my post solved your issue, it will help others find the solution. Click the “Kudos/Thumbs Up" on the bottom right to say “Thanks” for helping!

Hi @Elohi_NR

Thanks for your answer.

My printer has the Embedded Web Server (EWS) enabled. It also has the newest firmware version.

I have restarted my router.

I can successfully ping both the printer's IPv6 Link Local address (the one that starts with FE80::) and its complete IPv6 unicast address (the long one that starts with 2A09:), but I cannot watch the printer's website when I type http:// followed by either of the two IPv6 addresses in my browser. It only works with IPv4.

Can you test whether you can display a printer's website if you type http:// followed by either of the two IPv6 addresses your printer has? Maybe it just doesn't work to put in one's printer's IPv6 address in a browser if one wants to watch the printer's built-in website.

Hi Elohi_NR

My printer's warranty has expired. As far as I know I don't have other free support options than using this forum.

If you don't know if / how the HP DeskJet 2632's webserver can be contacted using IPv6 then I will just accept that and live with it.

Thanks for your help.
