Hi @SPTB
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
To connect your HP LaserJet Pro MFP M126nw printer to a Wi-Fi network, follow these steps:
Step-by-Step Guide to Connect Your HP LaserJet Pro MFP M126nw to Wi-Fi:
1. Prepare the Printer
- Make sure your printer is powered on.
- Ensure that your Wi-Fi network is active and you know the Wi-Fi name (SSID) and password.
2. Use the Printer's Control Panel to Connect to Wi-Fi
The HP LaserJet Pro MFP M126nw has a built-in control panel for connecting to Wi-Fi.
- Press the Wireless button on the printer’s control panel. The wireless light should blink, indicating that the printer is in wireless setup mode.
- On the printer's control panel, press the Wireless button again (it might be labeled with a Wi-Fi symbol) to open the Wireless Menu.
Depending on your model, the exact method for connecting may vary. Follow the steps below:
- Use the Up/Down arrows or Menu button to select Wireless Setup Wizard.
- The printer will scan for available networks. Once it finds your Wi-Fi network, use the arrow keys to select it.
- Enter your Wi-Fi password using the printer's keypad (this may take a bit of time since you’ll have to use the number keys for letters). When done, press OK or Enter.
3. Confirm the Connection
- The printer should now connect to your Wi-Fi network. The wireless icon on the control panel should stop blinking and remain solid to indicate that it is connected to Wi-Fi.
- You can print a Network Configuration Report from the printer's control panel to confirm the Wi-Fi connection. This can be done by going into the Setup Menu and selecting Reports or Print Network Configuration.
4. Install Printer on Your Computer
Once the printer is connected to the Wi-Fi network, you’ll need to install the printer on your computer:
Windows 10/11:
- Open Settings > Devices > Printers & Scanners.
- Click Add a printer or scanner.
- Windows should detect your printer automatically. Select your HP LaserJet Pro MFP M126nw from the list and click Add Device.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
