@Rosa82, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding Web Services on HP ENVY 4520 All-in-One Printer!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

If you are experiencing issues with Web Services on your HP ENVY 4520 printer, follow these steps to troubleshoot and resolve the problem:

Check Internet Connection

  • Ensure your printer is connected to the Internet using a wireless network. You will not be able to use Web Services if the printer is connected via USB.

Set up Web Services

Using the Printer Control Panel:

  1. From the printer control panel display, touch HP Printables.
  2. Touch Enable Web Services.
  3. Touch Accept to accept the Web Services terms of use and enable Web Services.
  4. On the Auto Update screen, touch Yes to allow the printer to automatically check for and install product updates.
  5. If a printer update is available, the printer will download and install the update, and then restart. You may need to repeat the instructions from step 1 to set up Web Services again.
  6. When connected, the printer will print an information page. Follow the instructions on this page to complete the setup.

Using the Embedded Web Server (EWS):

  1. Open the EWS. Refer to the user guide or HP support for instructions on accessing the EWS.
  2. Click the Web Services tab.
  3. In the Web Services Settings section, click Setup, click Continue, and follow the on-screen instructions to accept the terms of use.
  4. If prompted, choose to allow the printer to check for and install updates.

Using HP Printer Software (Windows):

  1. Open the HP printer software.
  2. In the window that appears, double-click Print & Scan and then select Connect Printer to the Web under Print. The printer's home page (embedded web server) opens.
  3. Click the Web Services tab.
  4. In the Web Services Settings section, click Setup, click Continue, and follow the on-screen instructions to accept the terms of use.
  5. If prompted, choose to allow the printer to check for and install updates.

Remove Web Services (if necessary)

  • From the printer control panel display, touch ePrint, then touch Web Services Settings.
  • Touch Remove Web Services and confirm by touching Yes.
  • Following this, you can set up Web Services again using any of the methods mentioned above.

Check for Proxy Settings

  • If your network uses proxy settings, follow the on-screen instructions to set up a proxy server. If you do not have the proxy details, contact your network administrator.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
