Hello everybody, after 10 years I gave a chance to hp printer again and here Im…
i have hp 585 connected to my mesh wifi network, working quite fine however after random period of time (somewhere between one week - one month) It will start to do some strange things.
1) after some while im not able to print via my ntbs at home (printer is offline)
2) desktop is able to print BUT hp scan is NOT working BUT WINDOWS default tool fax and scan is able to scan via hp printer
reinstall drivers will help for sometime, but after while it will start again.
do you have any idea where could be issue? Im almost fully decided to sell the printer and buy a different brand snd never return again to hp. Im not only one with this issue btw, my friend has it also on hp printer at home. On my previous printer everything was ok and working fine.
thanks for the help!

@suchac500, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding HP Printer Connectivity Issues!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
It sounds like your HP printer is experiencing intermittent connectivity issues with your mesh network. To troubleshoot and resolve these problems, follow the steps below:
1. Check Printer Network Connection
Ensure that your printer is properly connected to the mesh network:
- On your printer’s control panel, go to the wireless settings menu.
- Select “Wireless Setup Wizard” and follow the instructions to reconnect the printer to your mesh network.
2. Print Network Configuration Report
Print a network configuration report to check the network settings and connection status:
- From the printer control panel, touch Setup.
- Touch Reports and then touch Network Configuration Report.
This report provides details about network settings and can help identify any connectivity issues.
3. Run Wireless Network Test
Run a wireless network test to diagnose and fix network-related problems:
- On the printer control panel, press the Wireless button to open the wireless menu.
- Select “Run Wireless Network Test.”
This test will print a report with diagnostic information and configuration settings for your network connection.
4. Check Firewall and Security Software
Ensure that firewall or security software on your computer isn't blocking communication with the printer:
- Temporarily disable firewall or antivirus software and check if the printer’s connectivity improves.
- Add exceptions for HP software and services in your firewall settings.
5. Restart Devices
Restart your router, printer, and computers to refresh network connections:
- Turn off all devices (router, printer, computers).
- Turn on the router first and wait for it to fully boot.
- Turn on the printer and computers
Hope this helps!
Take care, and have an amazing day!
