Hello, after changing my old modem (WPA) to a new modem (WPA1/WPA2), I cannot connecct anymore to the new modem and therefore I can't print anymore. Apparently, it has something to do with the security version. Can I update my Hp Envy Photo 6200 to accept WPA2?

Welcome to the HP User Community.

The printer supports both 2.4GHz and 5GHz - though not likely at the same time.

WPA2 is supported.

Product Specifications for the HP ENVY Photo 6234 All-in-One Printer (K7S21B)

Yes, built-in dual band Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n

Router Side

If you have not done so,

Make sure your new router is broadcasting on both frequencies (bandwidths).

Assign a separate SSID named network for each frequency - connect the printer to the SSID network you want it to use.

The router will take care of routing traffic between devices.

Just fixing any issues with the SSID connection / setup might be enough to straighten out the mess.

Example - Dual Band Network - Considerations

SSID_Dual_Band_Example_12SSID_Dual_Band_Example_12

If you have not done so and the printer is still stuck with its old network settings,

Restore the printer network defaults.

User Guide  > Page 109

OR

Restore Network Defaults / Install / Connect

HP printer setup (Wi-Fi network)

Read the how-to-connect section in the User Guide

Chapter Network Setup - starting on Page 64

There is no magic in the user manual - reading the information might at least help you understand what is "supposed" to be happening.

After you have to printer on the network,

If the printer software (Full Feature Software / full driver printer software is still installed but is not working,

Consider

Uninstall the printer software from Programs and Features

Restart the computer and log in

Install a fresh copy of the full driver software

Ask if you need help installing the full driver printer software.

What else?

Connected but stuck?  Cannot install full driver?  Odd installation issues or messages?

If you have installation, offline, or port issues, assign a TCP/IP port for the printer.

Also try for loss of color print options.

Method - Create TCP IP port (InkJet Printer)

Find printer's IP /  IPv4 address

Print a Configuration Page

OR

Tap on the wireless icon on Printer Control / Display Panel

Control Panel > icon view > Devices and Printers

Right-Click on the printer > Left-Click Printer Properties

Select Tab Ports  > Add Port

Select Standard TCP/IP Port > New Port and follow the wizard.
Use / Enter IP address for the printer.

“Note that you can ALWAYS revert back to the original port that the HP software installed by selecting the HP port within the Ports tab (in Printer Properties)”

Finally -

All things equal, the printer should connect - look for other reasons why it is not doing so...

There is a lot of help at the Wireless Center site - pick and choose the article(s) based on your situation...
