Hi @Wtkbri,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query.

I am sorry to hear that the a power interruption caused by an electrical short has resulted in your HP DeskJet 3520 losing its Wi-Fi connection, I would request you to please follow the steps:

Check Wireless Indicator:

  • Ensure that the blue light next to the Wi-Fi symbol on the printer control panel is not blinking. If it is, the printer is not connected to the network.

Restart Devices:

  • Turn off your printer.
  • Unplug the power cord from the printer and the power source.
  • Wait for 60 seconds, then reconnect the power cord directly to a wall outlet (avoid surge protectors).
  • Press the power button to turn the printer back on.

Restore Network Settings:

  • On the printer control panel, tap Menu.
  • Scroll to Utilities and tap Settings.
  • Tap Network, then scroll to Restore Network Settings and tap Restore.
  • Tap Yes to confirm.

Reconnect to Wi-Fi:

  • Tap Wi-Fi on the printer control panel.
  • Next to Wi-Fi Setup, tap Start.
  • Choose your wireless network from the list and enter the network password.
  • Tap OK and then Submit.
  • Tap OK to confirm the settings.

Use HP Smart App:

  • Run the 'Diagnose & Fix' tool from the HP Smart app. Download it from 123.hp.com if you haven’t already.
  • After installing, open the app and select your printer.
  • Follow the app’s instructions to diagnose and fix any connection issues.

Remove and Re-add Printer in HP Smart:

  • Open HP Smart app.
  • Right-click (or long-press) the printer image and select 'Hide Printer'.
  • Choose 'Add Printer' to reconnect your printer to the app and follow the prompts.

Take care and have an amazing day!
