Common problems for Connectivity Issues
We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about Printer Wi-Fi, Connectivity Issues and Offline Status. Check out this link: HP printer is offline or unavailable.

I setup my 6000 series on a galaxy s25 Hotspot and after changing the wireless security in my phone from wpa 3 personal to wpa 2 / 3 personal (as the printer doesn't seem to support wpa 3 personal, I got the printer to connect happily and it would reconnect if I shut down the Hotspot.  Then, I turned off the Hotspot, went to bed, next day went to work and when I got back and turned on Hotspot,  the printer acts like it never heard of it and even quit broadcasting its own wifi direct which I thought was odd.  I also noticed that in the morning before work, the wifi light was off on the printer.  When I turned it back on, it just blinks at me.  I know I can go through the tedious steps to reset up the printer, but I dont wish to do this everyday.   The Hotspot is currently my only option if you want your printer to connect to you on my instant ink account.

Hardware:

•Hp envy 6000e

•Galaxy S25 (Android)

To recap:

▪︎setup on Hotspot

▪︎Set WPA 2/3 on phone for compatibility

▪︎Printer reconnect if Hotspot off for short time

▪︎Hotspot gone for several hours, printer forgets and turns off wifi in itself.

@heremiti, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

Thank you for the detailed explanation — it sounds like you've been doing all the right things to make the hotspot setup work, but unfortunately, there's a key limitation at play here.

While your Galaxy S25 mobile hotspot may temporarily allow your HP ENVY 6000e to connect (especially when you change the security mode to WPA2/WPA3), mobile hotspots are not designed for long-term or consistent printer connectivity. This is why the printer forgets the network after a longer disconnect period, and why Wi-Fi Direct also gets disabled

To ensure a stable and reliable connection, you should not rely on a mobile hotspot. Instead, please use Wi-Fi Direct, which allows your phone to connect directly to the printer’s own wireless signal — no hotspot or router needed.

I hope this helps.

Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.

Take care and have a good day.
