Hi @Ddeast,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP OfficeJet Pro 8610 is not connecting to the internet, follow these steps to troubleshoot and resolve the issue.
Check Network Connection
- Ensure Wi-Fi is Working: Verify your router is broadcasting a network and that other devices can connect to it.
- Ensure Printer is in Range: Place the printer closer to your router to rule out weak signal strength.
Restart Devices
- Restart your printer, router, and computer.
- Power off each device for at least 30 seconds before turning them back on.
Verify Printer Network Settings
- Go to the printer's control panel and select Wireless Settings > Wireless Setup Wizard.
- Choose your network from the list and enter your Wi-Fi password if prompted.
- If you don’t see your network, check if it’s hidden or not broadcasting.
Reconnect to Wi-Fi
- Reset Network Settings on the Printer:
- On the printer, go to Settings > Network > Restore Network Defaults.
- Reconnect using the Wireless Setup Wizard.
- Ensure the printer is connected to the same network as your computer or mobile device.
Check for IP Conflicts
- Print a Network Configuration Page from the printer’s control panel.
- Verify that the IP address matches the subnet of your network.
- If there’s an IP conflict, assign a static IP to the printer:
- Access the printer's Embedded Web Server (EWS) using the IP address in a web browser.
- Navigate to Network Settings and assign a static IP.
Update Printer Firmware
- Check if a firmware update is available:
- On the printer, go to Setup > Printer Maintenance > Update the Printer.
- Alternatively, download the latest firmware from the HP support website.
Troubleshoot Router Settings
- Disable features like MAC address filtering or firewall settings temporarily.
- Ensure the router supports 2.4 GHz, as many printers do not work with 5 GHz networks.

Use HP Print and Scan Doctor
- Download and run the HP Print and Scan Doctor on your computer to identify and resolve network issues automatically.
Test Wired Connection (Optional)
- Connect the printer to your network using an Ethernet cable (if applicable) to rule out Wi-Fi issues.
Reset the Printer
- As a last resort, perform a factory reset:
- Go to the Setup menu on the printer.
- Select Printer Maintenance > Restore Factory Settings.
- Reconfigure the network settings.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
