Hi @Td2_1260,

I understand your HP 234 printer is not printing even after installing a new cartridge, and the yellow light is blinking with a message saying it will not print until the error is fixed. Let’s go through a few steps to check what could be causing this.

Perform a power reset
Turn the printer on, unplug the power cord from the rear of the printer and from the wall outlet, then wait 60 seconds.
Plug the power cord back in directly to a wall outlet and turn the printer on to clear internal error states.

Reseat the cartridge
Open the cartridge access door and remove the newly installed cartridge.
Reinsert it firmly until it clicks into place, then close the access door completely.

Check for protective tape or packaging
Remove the cartridge again and inspect it for any orange plastic clips or clear protective tape.
Even a small piece of tape can cause the printer to report a cartridge error.

Verify correct cartridge type
Confirm the cartridge number matches the HP 234 printer’s supported cartridge model.
Using an incompatible or region-mismatched cartridge will trigger the blinking yellow error light.

Clean the cartridge and printer contacts
With the printer powered on, remove the cartridge.
Gently wipe the copper contacts on the cartridge and the matching contacts inside the printer using a dry, lint-free cloth.

Check for paper or access door issues
Make sure there is paper loaded properly in the tray and no paper is jammed inside the printer.
Confirm all doors and covers are fully closed, as open access panels also cause the yellow light to blink.

Check printer status on the computer
Open the printer settings or HP Smart app and look for any listed errors or warnings.
Clear any paused or stuck print jobs, then try printing a test page.

Reset the printer software connection
Remove the printer from your computer’s Devices and Printers list.
Restart the computer, then add the printer again and attempt to print.

I hope this helps.
