HP printer may not work on mobile hotspot. You may need to connect it to the wi-fi router. 

You may also print using wi-fi direct by following the steps from this video.

Note: Wi-fi direct option does not require internet.

Hi, I’ve seen a lot of answers to similar questions as this, saying you can’t connect to phone hotspots, and that’s simply not true.

All what you need is one device other than your phone (which has the hotspot) to have the HP smart app. Connect that device to your printer setup Wi-Fi (when you put it in Wi-Fi setup mode), then go onto the advanced options of the printer in the HP smart app, go to wireless setup wizard, (make sure you’ve got your hotspot on) select your hotspot on the Wi-Fi list that comes up, put in your hotspot password, and then boom, your printer is connected to your hotspot.
