Hi @nonobear,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
To resolve the issue with your HP Deskjet 3772 printer where both the world and wireless icons are blinking, indicating a problem with internet connectivity, follow these troubleshooting steps:
Restart Your Printer and Router: Sometimes, simply restarting your devices can resolve connectivity issues. Turn off your printer and unplug it from the power source. Restart your router by unplugging it, waiting for a minute, and plugging it back in. Once your router is fully back online, plug in and turn on your printer.
Check Printer's Wireless Signal: Ensure that your printer is within a good range of your wireless router. Obstacles like walls and large objects can interfere with the wireless signal.
Wireless Setup Wizard: Use the Wireless Setup Wizard on the printer to establish a connection to your wireless network. You can find this option in the printer’s control panel under the wireless settings or network setup options. This process will require you to select your network name (SSID) and enter the password.
HP Smart App: Consider using the HP Smart app for easier setup and management of your printer. The app provides a straightforward way to connect your printer to your wireless network and offers additional functionality like scanning and printing from your smartphone.
Reset Printer's Network Settings: If the above steps do not work, you might need to reset the printer's wireless settings back to factory defaults. This can often resolve connectivity issues but will require you to set up the connection again. Look for an option to restore network settings to default in the printer’s menu.
Firmware Update: Ensure your printer’s firmware is up to date. HP regularly releases updates to improve performance and resolve issues. You can update the firmware using the HP Smart app or by downloading the latest version from the HP website and following the instructions provided.
Check for Interferences: Other devices like cordless phones, microwave ovens, and Bluetooth devices can interfere with your Wi-Fi signal. Try turning off such devices temporarily to see if it improves your connection.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
