Hi @farmstrong
Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.
That sounds really frustrating—especially when everything else seems fine and the printer just refuses to cooperate. Let’s walk through a few steps that go beyond the usual quick fixes to help get your HP ENVY Photo 7858 back online and printing smoothly.
🛠️ Step-by-Step Fixes for Offline Status
1. Restart Everything
- Power off your printer, computer, and router.
- Unplug the printer from the wall for at least 60 seconds.
- Plug it back in directly to a wall outlet (not a surge protector), then power everything back on.
2. Check Network Connection
- Make sure your printer and computer are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
- On the printer’s control panel, check that the Wireless light is solid blue—this means it’s connected.
- If it’s blinking or off, reconnect the printer to Wi-Fi using the Wireless Setup Wizard from the printer’s touchscreen.
3. Run Diagnose & Fix Tool
- Download and open the HP Smart app on your computer.
- Click the Diagnose & Fix icon (wrench symbol in the lower-left corner).
- Follow the on-screen instructions to let the app scan and repair connection issues.
You can find full instructions for this tool on HP’s support page.
4. Remove and Re-add the Printer
- Open Settings > Devices > Printers & Scanners.
- Remove the printer from the list.
- Re-add it by clicking Add a printer or scanner and selecting your ENVY Photo 7858.
5. Clear the Print Queue
- Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
- Right-click your printer and select See what’s printing.
- Cancel any stuck jobs, then try printing again.
Let me know how it goes—I’ll be right here if you need help with any of the steps or want to prep for the support call. You’ve got this! 💪
