Hi
I have a problem with the Wifi connection of my printer. I've tried to connect my mac to the printer after putting the printer in set up mode. Now the smart app recognise the printer but it is still not connected when I try to print and the wireless button continues to blink even if the printer is recognised by the HP Smart app.
What can I do?
I have a HP Deskjet 2700

Hi @Vale861,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your printer!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
Try these steps:
Ensure Printer is Still in Wi-Fi Setup Mode: This mode allows the printer to be discovered during setup. You can restore Wi-Fi setup mode using the control panel of the printer. You might need to refer to instructions specific to your printer model to restore this mode.
Reconnect the Printer to the Network:
- Printers with a touchscreen control panel: Open the Setup, Network, or Wireless settings menu, select Wireless Setup Wizard, and then follow the instructions.
- Printers without a touchscreen control panel: Press and hold the Wireless button on the printer for five seconds or until the wireless light starts to flash. Within two minutes, press and hold the WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup) button on your router until the connection process begins.
Check Network Connection: Ensure your printer and Mac are connected to the same network. For consistent performance:
- Move the printer closer to the Wi-Fi router to increase signal strength.
- Restart the router by disconnecting the power cord, waiting for 15 seconds, and reconnecting the cord.
Restart Devices: Restart the printer and your Mac to clear potential error conditions.
Print a Wireless Test Report:
- You can do this from the printer or through your Mac by accessing HP Customer Support and searching for your printer model to find the document on how to print and evaluate the report.
Enable Bluetooth: For HP Smart app detection, ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your Mac.
Check Firewall Settings: If the printer is recognized in the HP Smart app but remains disconnected, your firewall settings might be blocking the connection. Temporarily disable firewall security software on your Mac to see if it resolves the issue.
I hope this helps.
