HI @heybert1,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If you can print from your phone but not from your HP computer and you're experiencing an "offline" status in HP Smart, here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:

1. Check Printer and Computer Connectivity

  • Ensure your HP printer is powered on, connected to the network, and not displaying any error messages.
  • Make sure your computer is connected to the same network as the printer. If the printer is connected via Wi-Fi, ensure both devices are on the same Wi-Fi network.

2. Restart Devices

  • Turn off your printer, unplug it from the power source, wait for 30 seconds, plug it back in, and turn it on.
  • Restart your computer to refresh its network connections and services.

3. Verify Printer Status in HP Smart

  • Launch the HP Smart app on your computer.
  • Ensure that the printer is correctly listed in the HP Smart app and that it shows as "Online." If it appears offline, try the following steps.

4. Reconnect Printer in HP Smart

  • Open the HP Smart app and go to Printers.
  • Remove your printer from the list by selecting the Remove option.
  • Click Add Printer and follow the prompts to re-add your printer.

5. Set Default Printer

  • On Windows, go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
  • Right-click your printer and select Set as default printer.
  • Ensure that the printer is set as the default printer and check its status.

6. Update or Reinstall Printer Drivers

  • Visit the HP Support website and download the latest drivers for your printer model. Install any available updates.
  • If updating doesn’t resolve the issue, uninstall the current drivers:
    • Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
    • Right-click your printer and select Remove device.
    • Download and reinstall the latest drivers from the HP Support website.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
