Hi @mbenitez56,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
To help you connect your HP Smart Tank S600 printer to your Wi-Fi network, follow these steps carefully. I'll guide you through the process of a proper factory reset and wireless setup.
Confirm Wi-Fi Details
Make sure your Wi-Fi network is working and you have the correct details (SSID and password). Also, ensure that the router is set to 2.4 GHz, as some printers do not connect to 5 GHz networks.
Factory Reset (if you haven't already done it correctly)
- Power off the printer by pressing the power button.
- Press and hold the Wi-Fi button (the button with a wireless symbol) and the Cancel button (the red 'X' button) at the same time for about 10-15 seconds.
- Wait until you see the Wi-Fi light blink and the printer's lights reset.
- This will reset the network settings to default, clearing any previous connections.
Reconnect to Wi-Fi
- Power on the printer.
- Press and hold the Wi-Fi button until it starts blinking, which means it is ready to connect.
- On your phone or computer, open the Wi-Fi settings and look for the printer’s Wi-Fi network (usually called "HP-Print-xx-Deskjet").
- Connect to this network.
- Once connected, open a web browser and go to http://192.168.223.1 (this is the printer's temporary network page).
- Follow the on-screen instructions to connect the printer to your actual Wi-Fi network. Enter your network name (SSID) and password.
Use the HP Smart App
- Download and install the HP Smart App on your phone or computer.
- Open the app, and select Add Printer.
- The app should automatically detect your printer and guide you through the final setup steps to complete the Wi-Fi connection.
Note:
- If the printer's lights are confusing, they should behave as follows:
- Solid Wi-Fi light means it’s connected to a network.
- Flashing Wi-Fi light indicates it's in setup mode (ready to connect to Wi-Fi).
- If it's not blinking, it may require a reset or checking the Wi-Fi network.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
