Common problems for Connectivity Issues

I have the printer HP Deskjet 2800 series [A3E6AA] the serial number is [Personal Information Removed] the printer pin is 65952913. It printed a paper who say that it’s not connected to the internet and my laptop don’t recognise the printer even with the printer IP address [Personal Information Removed].

If your HP Deskjet 2800 series printer is not connecting to the internet and your laptop doesn't recognize it, here are some troubleshooting steps you can follow:

Step 1: Check Network Connection

Ensure Wi-Fi is Enabled:

  • Make sure the printer's Wi-Fi is turned on. Look for a wireless light on the printer; it should be solid and not blinking.

Reconnect to Wi-Fi:

  • If the printer was previously connected to Wi-Fi, try reconnecting it. You can usually do this via the printer's control panel.

Step 2: Use the HP Smart App

Download the HP Smart App:

  • If you haven't already, download the HP Smart app from the HP website or your device’s app store.

Add Printer:

  • Open the app and try adding your printer again. The app should guide you through the setup process.

Step 3: Check Printer IP Address

Print Network Configuration Page:

  • Print a network configuration page from the printer's menu to see the current IP address. This can usually be done via the settings or network section on the printer.

Ensure Correct IP:

  • Make sure the IP address listed on the configuration page matches what you're trying to connect to.

Step 4: Firewall and Security Settings

Check Firewall Settings:

  • Ensure that your firewall or antivirus software is not blocking the printer connection.

Allow HP Software:

  • Add exceptions for HP software and drivers in your firewall settings.

Step 5: Update or Reinstall Printer Drivers

Uninstall Existing Drivers:

  • Go to Device Manager on your laptop, find your printer under "Printers," right-click it, and select "Uninstall."

Download Latest Drivers:

  • Visit the HP Driver and Software Download page and download the latest drivers for your printer model.

Install Drivers:

  • Follow the installation prompts and connect the printer when prompted.
