Hi @benroyston,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If you’re having trouble finding or resetting the password for your HP Color LaserJet Pro M254dw, here are some steps to help you resolve the issue:

**1. Check the Printer Manual

  • Manual: The default password is often listed in the printer’s user manual. If you don’t have a physical copy, you can usually find a digital version on HP’s support website.

**2. Default Passwords

  • Default Password: For many HP printers, the default password is often set to either admin or 123456. Try these default passwords if you haven’t changed them.

**3. Access the Printer’s Web Interface

  • IP Address: Find the printer’s IP address by printing a configuration page from the printer’s menu (often found under the “Network” settings).
  • Web Interface: Enter the IP address into a web browser to access the printer’s web interface.
  • Default Login: Use admin as the username and 123456 or no password to log in.

**4. Reset the Printer to Factory Defaults

If you cannot access the printer with default passwords or through the web interface, you may need to reset the printer to factory settings:

  • Factory Reset: On the printer’s control panel:
    • Go to the Menu or Setup option.
    • Find and select Printer Maintenance or Service.
    • Choose Restore Factory Defaults or Reset.
    • Confirm the action and wait for the printer to restart.

Note: Resetting the printer to factory defaults will erase all custom settings, including network settings and configurations.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
