Hi @Cherry35,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
Finding the WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup) PIN for your HP DeskJet 2600 printer can be a bit tricky because it's not always readily available in the user manual or on the printer itself. However, here are some steps you can take to try and locate or generate the WPS PIN.
Look for a Label: Check your printer for a label or sticker that might have the WPS PIN printed on it. This label is often found on the rear or bottom of the printer. The label might also contain a QR code that you can scan to connect to your printer.
Check the Printer's Display: Sometimes, the WPS PIN can be displayed on the printer's control panel screen. Navigate through the printer's menu options to see if you can find it there.
Use the Default WPS PIN: Many HP printers have a default WPS PIN, which is usually printed on a label attached to the printer. The default PIN is often 8 digits long. Try entering "00000000" (eight zeros) as the WPS PIN if you can't find the actual PIN.
Print a Network Configuration Page: Most printers, including the DeskJet 2600 series, can print a network configuration page that contains important network information, including the WPS PIN. Here's how to do it:
- a. Turn on your printer.
- b. Load plain paper into the input tray.
- c. Press and hold the Cancel button and the Wireless button (or Wi-Fi Direct button) on the printer simultaneously for about five seconds. This should print a network configuration page, and the WPS PIN might be listed on it.
Generate a New WPS PIN: If you still can't find the WPS PIN or the default PIN doesn't work, you can often generate a new one through the printer's web interface or software utility. Here's how:
- a. Connect your printer to your computer using a USB cable.
- b. Install the printer software on your computer if you haven't already.
- c. Open the HP printer software and look for an option to set up the wireless connection. This may vary depending on your printer model.
- d. Follow the on-screen instructions to generate a new WPS PIN.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
