Hi @Brett13,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If you’re having trouble connecting your HP DeskJet 2720e printer to a new router, follow these steps to get it connected:

**1. Prepare for Setup

**1. Check Printer and Router:

  • Power On: Ensure your HP DeskJet 2720e printer is powered on.
  • Router: Make sure your new router is working correctly and is connected to the internet.

**2. Connect Printer to Wi-Fi

Using the Printer’s Control Panel:

**1. Access Wi-Fi Settings:

  • On the printer’s control panel, press the Wi-Fi or Wireless button. If your model doesn’t have a dedicated button, use the Setup or Settings button to access wireless settings.
  • Look for the Wireless Setup Wizard or Wi-Fi Setup option.

**2. Run Wireless Setup Wizard:

  • Select Wireless Setup Wizard. The printer will search for available networks.
  • Select Your Network: Choose your new Wi-Fi network from the list of available networks.
  • Enter Password: Input the Wi-Fi password for your new network when prompted.

**3. Confirm Connection:

  • Wait for the printer to connect to the network. It may take a few moments. The wireless light on the printer should stop blinking and stay solid when the connection is successful.

Using HP Smart App:

**1. Install HP Smart:

  • Download and install the HP Smart app on your smartphone or computer if you haven’t already. It’s available for both iOS and Android devices, and for Windows and macOS.

**2. Add Printer:

  • Open the HP Smart app.
  • Click on the + icon to add a new printer. The app should automatically search for printers on your network.
  • Follow the on-screen instructions to connect your HP DeskJet 2720e to your new Wi-Fi network.

**3. Update Printer Drivers

**1. Download Drivers:

  • Go to the HP Support website and search for your printer model (HP DeskJet 2720e).
  • Download and install the latest drivers and software for your printer.

**2. Reconfigure Printer Settings:

  • After installing the drivers, you may need to reconfigure the printer settings on your computer to ensure it’s set up to use the new network.

**4. Restart Devices

**1. Restart Printer:

  • Turn off the printer, wait for 60 seconds, and turn it back on.

**2. Restart Router:

  • Power cycle your router by unplugging it for 30 seconds and then plugging it back in.

**5. Check Network Connection

**1. Verify Printer’s Connection:

  • Print a network configuration page from the printer’s control panel to confirm it is connected to the new network.

**2. Test Print:

  • Try printing a test page to ensure that the printer is correctly set up and communicating with your computer.

**6. Troubleshooting

**1. Check for Interference:

  • Ensure there are no physical obstructions or interference between the printer and the router.

**2. Reset Network Settings:

  • If all else fails, you may need to reset the network settings on the printer and try the setup process again.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
