If you need to claim the warranty for your HP product but do not have a HP Warranty Pin (WPIN), follow these steps:
Verify Your Warranty Status:
- Visit the HP Warranty Check page to check the status of your warranty by entering your product's serial number.
Contact HP Support:
- Reach out to HP Support through the HP Support website or by phone.
- Provide details about your product, including the serial number, model number, and a detailed description of the issue you are experiencing.
Troubleshooting:
- The HP support agent will guide you through basic troubleshooting steps. If the issue cannot be resolved remotely, they will authorize a repair.
Repair Authorization:
- If a repair is necessary, the support agent will provide you with a Return to Manufacture Authorization (RMA) number and shipping instructions.
- They will arrange for a shipping box to be sent to you, if needed. This box will come with packing materials, a pre-paid shipping label, and packaging instructions.
Backup Your Data:
- Before sending your product, ensure you back up all important data, as the repair process may involve a full system recovery that erases all data on the device.
Prepare Your Product for Shipping:
- Follow the instructions provided by HP to securely package your product.
- Remove any external accessories unless explicitly instructed to send them along by HP Support.
Ship Your Product:
- Attach the pre-paid shipping label on the box.
- Drop off the package at the nearest authorized drop-off center or schedule a pick-up, as per the instructions provided.
Track Your Repair:
- You will receive status updates via email or mobile notifications throughout the repair process.
- You can also check the status of your repair using your service order number on the HP Service Order Status page.
