@graziani, Welcome to HP Support Community!
Go to System Information to check the USB detection- try different port and cable if not detected
Are you using a USB hub? If yes, disconnect, and connect the printer directly.
If the printer is detected under USB devices, follow the steps to reset the printing system-

Click the Apple menu, and then click System Preferences.

Click Print & Fax, Print & Scan, or Printers & Scanners.

Right-click (or Control + click) anywhere inside the Printers window, and then click Reset printing system.

Click Reset in the confirmation window.

Enter the Administrator's name and password, and then click OK to complete the reset.
After the printing system resets, add your printer back to the list and try to print.
