HP ENVY 6455e All-in-One Printer

It was working fine until I had to change my Wi-Fi password. Now, I can't get the printer back online. Talked to a tech support rep, who was worse than useless. Anybody have similar experiences?

Hi @jrees,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds frustrating! Wi-Fi connectivity issues after changing the password are relatively common with printers. Let's troubleshoot this.

  • Restart Everything: Start by restarting your printer, computer, and router. Sometimes a simple reboot can resolve connectivity issues.
  • Reconfigure Wi-Fi Settings: Access your printer's settings menu, usually found on the printer's control panel or through its web interface. Look for options to set up a new Wi-Fi connection and enter the updated password.
  • Forget Old Network: Ensure that your printer forgets the old Wi-Fi network settings. This is important because it might still be trying to connect to the old network. Look for options to forget or delete network settings.
  • Direct Connection: If your printer supports it, consider connecting it directly to your computer via USB temporarily. This can bypass Wi-Fi issues and allow you to reconfigure the Wi-Fi settings more easily.
  • Firewall or Security Software: Check your computer's firewall or security software settings to ensure they are not blocking the printer's connection attempts.
  • Reset Printer Network Settings: As a last resort, you might need to reset your printer's network settings entirely. Refer to your printer's manual for instructions on how to do this.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
