Common Issues and Solutions

Paper Jam:

  • Description: A paper jam inside the printer.
  • Solution: Open the printer cover and carefully remove any jammed paper. Make sure to check all possible areas where paper can get stuck.

Low or Empty Ink Cartridge:

  • Description: One or both of the ink cartridges are low or empty.
  • Solution: Check the ink levels via the HP Smart app or the printer's control panel. Replace any empty or low cartridges.

Ink Cartridge Issue:

  • Description: The ink cartridges are not installed correctly or are not compatible.
  • Solution: Open the printer cover and ensure the cartridges are properly seated. If the cartridges are not compatible, replace them with the correct ones.

Printer Door Open:

  • Description: The printer door is open.
  • Solution: Make sure all printer doors and covers are securely closed.

Out of Paper:

  • Description: The printer is out of paper.
  • Solution: Load paper into the input tray and ensure it is aligned correctly.

Alignment Needed:

  • Description: The printer needs to align the cartridges.
  • Solution: Follow the instructions on the printer's display or in the HP Smart app to perform an alignment.

Network Issue:

Steps to Troubleshoot

Check for Paper Jams:

  • Open the printer and remove any jammed paper.
  • Ensure there are no small pieces of paper stuck inside.

Check and Replace Ink Cartridges:

  • Open the ink cartridge access door.
  • Remove and reseat the ink cartridges.
  • If any cartridges are empty, replace them with new ones.

Close All Doors and Trays:

  • Make sure all printer doors, covers, and trays are securely closed.

Load Paper:

  • Ensure there is paper in the input tray and that it is properly aligned.

Perform a Printer Reset:
