Hi @tess121,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand you have upgraded to a new Verizon MiFi, HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus e-All-in-One Printer to have trouble connecting to the new network. Here are steps to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:

Step 1: Restart Devices

  1. Restart the Verizon MiFi: Turn it off, wait a few seconds, then turn it back on.
  2. Restart the Printer: Turn it off, wait a few seconds, then turn it back on.

Step 2: Check Wi-Fi Settings on the MiFi

  1. Ensure the MiFi is broadcasting the Wi-Fi network.
  2. Check the network name (SSID) and password. Write them down for reference.

Step 3: Connect the Printer to the New Network

Access the Wireless Setup Wizard on the Printer:

  • On the printer's control panel, touch the Wireless icon.
  • Navigate to Settings or Network Setup.
  • Select Wireless Setup Wizard.

Select Your Network:

  • The printer will search for available networks. Select your new Verizon MiFi network (SSID) from the list.
  • Enter the password for your MiFi network when prompted.

Confirm Connection:

  • The printer should display a message indicating it has connected successfully. If not, ensure the password was entered correctly.

Step 4: Update Printer Firmware (if needed)

  1.  Check for Firmware Updates: Update the firmware on an HP printer
    • Go to HP's website and check if there are any firmware updates available for the HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus.
    • Download and install any updates, following the instructions on the HP website.

Step 5: Verify Network Settings on the Printer

Print a Network Configuration Page:

  • On the printer's control panel, touch the Wireless icon.
  • Go to Settings or Network Setup.
  • Select Print Network Configuration Page.

Check the Details:

  • Verify the IP address and ensure it matches the subnet of your MiFi network.
  • Ensure the connection type is Infrastructure (not Ad-Hoc).

Step 6: Troubleshoot Common Issues

  1. Check Signal Strength: Ensure the printer is within range of the MiFi and there are no obstructions causing interference.
  2. Network Band Compatibility: Ensure the MiFi and the printer are operating on the same Wi-Fi band (2.4GHz is typically more compatible with older devices).
  3. Reset Network Settings on Printer:
    • On the printer's control panel, go to Settings or Network Setup.
    • Select Restore Network Defaults and then re-run the Wireless Setup Wizard.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
