Hi @73vette,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your printer!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
Try these steps:
Check Network Connection:
- Ensure your printer is within range of your Wi-Fi router.
- Make sure there are no physical obstructions or electronic devices causing interference between your printer and the router.
Restart Devices:
- Power off your printer, computer, and router. Wait for about 60 seconds, and then power them back on. This can sometimes resolve connectivity issues by refreshing the network connection.
Verify Wi-Fi Settings:
- On the printer’s control panel, go to the Network or Wireless settings menu.
- Confirm that your printer is connected to the correct Wi-Fi network (SSID).
Run Wireless Test:
- Use the Wireless Setup Wizard from the printer’s control panel to reconfigure the Wi-Fi settings.
- Print a new wireless test report to see if the connectivity status has improved.
Check Router Configuration:
- Ensure your router is not using enhanced security settings that might block the printer. This includes features such as MAC address filtering.
- Make sure your router’s firmware is up to date.
Update Printer Firmware:
- Go to the printer’s Settings menu and look for firmware updates. Keeping the firmware updated can resolve various connectivity issues.
- Alternatively, download the latest firmware from the HP Support website.
HP Smart App:
- Open the HP Smart app on your computer or mobile device.
- Ensure the printer shows as connected. If it doesn't, follow the prompts to reconnect the printer to your Wi-Fi network.
Advanced Troubleshooting:
- Disable IPv6 on the printer’s network settings.
- Check if the printer's IP address is in conflict with another device on the network (you can do this by assigning a static IP to the printer).
I hope this helps.
