I have a new Sky router and all items on network connect to WiFi but my HP Envy 5532 does not. I have tried all on screen instructions including WPS and Wizard etc but no connection. The new router is on the network list. The printer has always worked with the old router. The new router is for SKY super fast

Hi @Blotty,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP Envy 5532 printer is not connecting to your new Sky Superfast router, even though the printer worked fine with your previous router, the issue is likely due to a network configuration mismatch or compatibility issue. Here's a step-by-step guide to troubleshoot and resolve the problem.

Verify Printer and Router Settings

  • Printer Compatibility: Ensure the HP Envy 5532 supports the WiFi band of your Sky router (2.4 GHz). Some printers may not support 5 GHz networks.
  • SSID Visibility: Confirm that the network name (SSID) is visible to the printer. Hidden networks will require manual entry.
  • WiFi Password: Double-check that the correct password is being entered during setup.

Reset the Printer's Network Settings

  1. On the printer control panel, go to Settings > Wireless Settings > Restore Network Defaults.
  2. Confirm to reset the network settings. This will remove any previous configurations.

Reconnect to the New Router

Using the Wireless Setup Wizard:

  1. On the printer control panel, select Wireless > Wireless Setup Wizard.
  2. Choose your Sky network from the list.
  3. Enter the network password carefully.

Using WPS (WiFi Protected Setup):

  1. Press the WPS button on your Sky router.
  2. On the printer, go to Wireless > WPS and follow the on-screen instructions.

Check Router Settings

  • Dual-Band Compatibility: Ensure your Sky router's 2.4 GHz band is enabled. Some older printers only support 2.4 GHz networks.
  • MAC Address Filtering: Disable MAC address filtering on the router if it's enabled.
  • Firewall/Security Settings: Temporarily lower the router's firewall to see if it is blocking the printer.
