I’m trying to access the IP address to my HP Smart Tank 7301 printer. When going on the HP app, it says my printers is unavailable and I cannot get it connected to the Internet. How do I find the IP address?

Hi @Abs1739

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

To find the IP address of your HP Smart Tank 7301 printer, you can try the following methods:

1. Using the Printer Control Panel

  1. Power On: Make sure your printer is powered on.
  2. Navigate to the Settings Menu: Use the control panel on the printer to find the Settings or Network menu.
  3. Select Network Status: Look for an option like Network Configuration or Network Status.
  4. View IP Address: The IP address should be displayed on the screen.

2. Print Network Configuration Page

  1. Access Network Configuration:
    • On the printer control panel, go to Settings > Reports > Network Configuration.
  2. Print the Page: This will print a page that includes the printer’s IP address along with other network settings.

3. Using the HP Smart App (If Connected)

  • If your printer is somewhat connected but not fully recognized:
    1. Open the HP Smart app.
    2. Click on your printer (if it appears).
    3. Look for a section that may display network settings or IP address.

4. Check Your Router’s Device List

  • Log into your Wi-Fi router’s web interface:
    1. Open a web browser and type in your router’s IP address (commonly 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1).
    2. Log in with your router credentials.
    3. Look for a section like Connected Devices or DHCP Clients. Your printer should be listed there with its IP address.

5. Using Windows or Mac

  • If the printer is installed on your computer:
    • Windows:
      1. Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
      2. Right-click on your printer and select Printer Properties.
      3. Click on the Ports tab; the IP address should be listed next to the port your printer is using.
    • Mac:
      1. Open System Preferences > Printers & Scanners.
      2. Select your printer, and the IP address should appear in the details.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
