Hi @SusanCC505,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

When your HP Envy 5530 printer is unable to connect to your new Wi-Fi network despite finding the network, the issue is often related to incorrect settings or a mismatch in network configuration. Here's how to resolve it.

Verify Wi-Fi Password:

  • Ensure you are entering the correct Wi-Fi password. Remember, passwords are case-sensitive.

Restart Your Devices:

  • Restart your printer, router, and the device you're using to manage the connection (e.g., computer or phone).

Reconfigure the Printer's Wireless Settings:

  • On the printer's control panel:
    1. Press the Wireless icon or go to Wireless Settings.
    2. Select Wireless Setup Wizard.
    3. Choose your Wi-Fi network from the list.
    4. Enter your Wi-Fi password carefully.

Check for Dual-Band Network (2.4GHz vs 5GHz):

  • The HP Envy 5530 supports only 2.4GHz Wi-Fi networks. If your router uses dual bands (2.4GHz and 5GHz), ensure the printer is connecting to the 2.4GHz band.

Update Printer Firmware:

  • Ensure your printer's firmware is up-to-date:
    1. On the printer control panel, go to Settings > Printer Maintenance > Update Printer.
    2. Allow the printer to check for and install updates.

Reconnect Using the WPS Method (Optional):

  • If your router supports WPS:
    1. Press and hold the Wireless button on the printer until it starts blinking.
    2. Press the WPS button on your router within 2 minutes.
    3. Wait for the connection to establish.

Reset the Network Settings on the Printer:

  • If the issue persists, reset the printer's network settings:
    1. On the printer control panel, go to Settings > Wireless > Restore Network Defaults.
    2. Reconfigure the Wi-Fi connection using the Wireless Setup Wizard.

Check Router Settings:

  • Ensure that your router settings do not block the printer:
    • Disable MAC address filtering or whitelist your printer’s MAC address.
    • Enable DHCP to assign an IP address automatically to the printer.

Use the HP Smart App for Setup:

  • Download and install the HP Smart app on your computer or mobile device.
  • Use the app to connect the printer to your Wi-Fi network. It provides guided steps to troubleshoot and connect.

Print a Wireless Network Test Report:

  • On the printer's control panel, press the Wireless button > Settings > Print Wireless Network Test Report.
  • Review the report for detailed error information and suggestions.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
