@JezA2, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you're trying to reset the Wi-Fi on your HP OfficeJet Pro 9012e All-in-One Printer but you've forgotten the printer’s username and password. No worries, I’ll guide you through the steps to regain access and reset the wireless settings.
Method 1: Restore Network Defaults (Recommended)
This will reset your wireless settings (SSID, password, etc.) but won’t affect your print settings or ink levels.
- On the printer control panel, tap the Wi-Fi icon or navigate to Settings.
- Tap Network Settings > Restore Network Defaults.
- Confirm when prompted. Your printer will disconnect from the current Wi-Fi and restart its wireless settings.
- Wait for the printer to restart.
Method 2: Reset Entire Printer (If Admin Password Is Lost)
If you're locked out of the Embedded Web Server (EWS) or can't make changes due to a forgotten admin password:
- From the printer’s touchscreen, go to:
Menu > Settings > Printer Maintenance > Restore > Restore Factory Defaults - Confirm the reset. This will erase all custom settings (including admin password, Wi-Fi info, Web Services, etc.)
- Once it restarts, you can reconfigure the Wi-Fi.
Reconnect the Printer to Wi-Fi:
After the reset, use the HP Smart App on your computer or phone to set up the Wi-Fi again:
- Download or open the HP Smart App.
- Add a new printer → Follow the setup instructions.
- Select your Wi-Fi network and enter the password.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
