Hi @AJW09,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

Updating the network settings on your HP LaserJet Pro MFP M28w printer to connect to a new WiFi network without a WPS button involves a few steps. Since you're moving to a network that doesn't support WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup), you'll likely need to use HP's software or the printer's built-in web server to connect to the new network. Here’s a general guide to help you through the process:

HP Smart App:

  • For Windows or Mac: Download and install the HP Smart app from HP's official website or your computer's app store. After installation, open the app and follow the prompts to add your printer. You might need to connect your printer to the computer temporarily via USB to set up the new Wi-Fi connection.
  • For Android or iOS: Download the HP Smart app from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store. Ensure your smartphone or tablet is connected to the new fiber network. Open the app, and it should guide you through adding a printer and setting it up with the new Wi-Fi network.

HP Printer's Built-in Web Server (EWS):

  • If you can't use the HP Smart app, another option is to use the printer's built-in web server. You'll need to connect your printer to your computer using a USB cable.
  • Once connected, you might be able to access the printer's web server by navigating to its IP address in a web browser. You can usually find the printer's IP address on the printer's network report or in the network settings menu on the printer's display (if it has one).
  • Inside the web server interface, look for the wireless or network settings section. Here, you should be able to find options to configure your wireless connection. Enter your new network's SSID and password to connect.

Manual Setup through Printer Control Panel:

  • If your printer has a control panel with a display, you might be able to navigate through the menus to find network or wireless settings. From there, you can usually select a Wi-Fi setup wizard or similar option that allows you to search for networks, select your new fiber network, and enter the password directly through the printer.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
