Hi @stutenn ,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand you are trying to connect your HP LaserJet MFP M140we Printer to a specific WiFi network, you need to set up or change the wireless connection. Here's how to do it:

Option 1: Using the HP Smart App HP printer setup (HP Smart app)

Ensure your printer is in WiFi setup mode:

  • If the printer has already been connected to a network, you’ll need to reset the wireless settings.
    • Press and hold the Wireless button and the Cancel button on the printer until the Power button blinks. This will reset the wireless settings.
    • The Wireless light will start blinking, indicating it’s in setup mode.

Install or open the HP Smart app on your computer or mobile device.

  • Download it from the HP Smart website if you don’t already have it.
  • Ensure the computer or device is connected to the WiFi network you want the printer to use.

Add the printer in HP Smart:

  • Open the HP Smart app and click Add Printer.
  • Select your printer from the list (it should show up if it's in setup mode).
  • Follow the on-screen instructions to connect the printer to the desired WiFi network.

Option 2: Using the Printer's Embedded Web Server (EWS) Use the HP printer Embedded Web Server (EWS)

  1. Connect the printer temporarily to your computer via USB or connect it to one of your WiFi networks.
  2. Access the EWS:
    • Find your printer’s IP address (printed on a configuration page or displayed in the app).
    • Enter the IP address into a web browser on a computer or device connected to the same network.
  3. Change the WiFi settings:
    • Navigate to the Network/Wireless Settings in the EWS.
    • Select the new WiFi network and enter the password.
    • Save the settings, and your printer will connect to the new network.

Option 3: Using the Wireless Setup Wizard (if applicable)

  1. Access the setup wizard via the printer’s control panel (if it has a screen or buttons for navigation).
  2. Select Wireless Settings, then Setup Wizard.
  3. Choose the desired WiFi network from the list and enter the password.
  • Ensure your printer is within range of the WiFi network you want to connect to.
  • Make sure the desired WiFi network is a 2.4 GHz network, as many printers do not support 5 GHz networks.
