I have just upgraded to fibre broadband.  My HP 3050 printer was connected wirelesly to my old network but I do not know how to get it to connect with my new network.  When I press the network button on the printer, it tries to connect but times out and does not connect.  How do I get my printer to connect wirelessly to my new network?

Hi @Scotty751,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

To connect your HP 3050 printer to your new fibre broadband network, follow these steps.

Prepare Your Printer

  1. Reset Network Settings: It might help to reset the printer's network settings.
    • Turn on your printer.
    • On the printer's control panel, press the Wireless button and Cancel button at the same time, then release both. This should reset the network settings.

Connect the Printer to the New Network

  1. Reconfigure Wireless Settings:
    • On the printer's control panel, press the Wireless button.
    • Navigate to the Wireless Settings menu.
    • Select Wireless Setup Wizard.
    • The printer will search for available networks. When your new network appears, select it.
    • Enter your network password using the printer's keypad. Use the keypad to cycle through the characters (uppercase, lowercase, and special characters).

Install or Update Printer Software

Download the Latest Software:

  • Visit the HP Customer Support - Software and Driver Downloads page.
  • Enter your printer model (HP Deskjet 3050) and select your operating system.
  • Download the latest full-feature software and driver package for your printer.

Run the Installer:

  • Open the downloaded file and follow the on-screen instructions.
  • When prompted, select the wireless connection option and follow the steps to complete the setup.

Verify Connection

  1. Print a Network Configuration Page:
    • On the printer’s control panel, press the Wireless button.
    • Select Print Network Configuration Page.
    • Review the page to ensure the printer has a valid IP address and is connected to the correct network.

Optional: Use WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup)

  1. Using WPS:
    • On the printer, press and hold the Wireless button until it starts blinking.
    • Press the WPS button on your router within 2 minutes.
    • The printer should automatically connect to the network.

By following these steps, your HP 3050 printer should be able to connect to your new fibre broadband network wirelessly.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
