Hi @Woolard,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your printer is connected to Wi-Fi but not to the internet, and you’re seeing an amber light indicating connectivity issues, there are several potential causes and solutions you can try. Here’s a comprehensive guide to resolving this issue:

1. Verify Network Connectivity

  • Check Internet Connection:
    • Ensure that other devices (e.g., your smartphone or computer) connected to the same Wi-Fi network have internet access. This helps determine if the issue is with the internet connection itself or just the printer.

2. Restart Devices

Restart Printer:

  • Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, wait for about 60 seconds, then plug it back in and turn it on.

Restart Router:

  • Unplug your router from the power source, wait for 60 seconds, then plug it back in and let it fully restart.

Restart Your Device:

  • Restart the device you are using to troubleshoot (e.g., iPhone, computer).

3. Check Printer Network Settings

Verify Printer Connection:

  • On your printer’s control panel, navigate to Setup > Network Setup > Wireless Network Test Report (or similar) to print a network configuration report. This report can provide details about the network status and connectivity issues.

Reconnect to Wi-Fi Network:

  • On the printer’s control panel, go to Setup > Network Setup > Wireless Setup Wizard. Follow the prompts to reconnect to your Wi-Fi network.

4. Update Printer Firmware

  • Check for Firmware Updates:
    • Visit the HP Support website and search for your printer model to find the latest firmware updates. Install any available updates as they can fix connectivity issues.

5. Resolve IP Address Conflicts

  • Assign Static IP Address:

Sometimes, assigning a static IP address to the printer can resolve connectivity issues. You can do this from the printer’s control panel:

  • Navigate to Setup > Network Setup > TCP/IP Settings or Advanced Settings.
  • Assign a static IP address within your network’s range and save the settings.

6. Reconfigure Wireless Settings

  • Forget and Reconnect to Network:
    • On the printer’s control panel, go to Setup > Network Setup > Wireless Settings > Forget Network or similar. Then, reconnect by selecting your network and entering the password again.

7. Reset Network Settings

  • Reset Network Settings:

If the above steps do not work, you might need to reset the printer’s network settings to default:

  • Go to Setup > Network Setup > Restore Network Defaults.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
