I'm getting messages from HP that my printer is not connected to the internet -- it seems to be working properly, but I need to know what to do if this is the case.

@johnjasonphilli, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding Printer Not Connected to the Internet!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
If you're receiving messages from HP indicating that your printer is not connected to the internet, but your printer appears to be functioning properly, you might want to follow these troubleshooting steps to resolve the issue:
Check Printer's Connection:
- Ensure the printer is properly connected to your Wi-Fi network. You can usually do this through the printer's control panel network settings. Make sure you reconnect it to the correct network and the signal strength is adequate.
Restart Devices:
- Sometimes a simple reboot can fix connectivity issues. Restart your printer, router, and possibly your computer.
Update Printer Firmware:
- Outdated firmware can also lead to connectivity problems. Check whether there are any available updates for your printer's firmware from the HP support website.
Check Printer's IP Address:
- Make sure that your printer's IP address is correctly set if you are using a static IP address. If not, consider changing it to dynamic or vice versa as per network settings.
Firewall and Security Software:
- Security software and firewalls may block your printer's communication with the internet. Temporarily disable them to see if connectivity is restored, but don't forget to enable them afterward.
HP Smart App:
- Use the HP Smart App to diagnose and fix connectivity issues. It can guide you through steps specific to your printer model.
Reset Network Settings:
- As a last resort, reset the network settings on your printer to factory defaults and then set up the connection again.
Hope this helps!
Take care, and have an amazing day!
