Hi @dandrea,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP ENVY 5055 All-in-One Printer is showing offline or a server problem when connecting to your Android phone, try the following steps.
Restart Everything
- Turn off your printer, router, and phone.
- Wait 30 seconds, then turn them back on.
- Ensure both the printer and phone are connected to the same WiFi network.
Check the Printer’s WiFi Connection
- On the printer's touchscreen, go to:
Setup → Network Setup → Wireless Settings - Select Print Wireless Test Report to check for network issues.
Forget & Reconnect Printer on Android
- Open HP Smart App on your phone.
- Tap the printer name, then Forget this printer.
- Tap Add a Printer and reconnect.
Reset Printer’s Network Settings
- On the printer's touchscreen, go to:
Setup → Network Setup → Restore Network Settings - Reconnect the printer to WiFi.
Manually Connect via IP Address
- On the printer’s control panel, find the IP address:
Setup → Network Setup → Wireless Summary - On your phone, open a web browser and type the IP address in the address bar.
- If the page loads, your phone can communicate with the printer.
- Try printing again.
Check for HP Smart App Issues
- Open HP Smart → Sign out → Sign back in.
- If the error continues, uninstall and reinstall HP Smart.
Check Router Settings
- Ensure 2.4GHz WiFi is enabled (some HP printers do not support 5GHz).
- Disable any guest network or VPN.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
