Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello all i really hope someone can help me. I've been using this printer for a whole years with no problems. So recently i just moved to a new home so i had to turn off the printer for a while( like a month or so) and also canceled my plan on hp instanink. When i tried to use the printer again i ran into a problem where the Blue WIFI indicator light is up solid on printer and WIFI Summary indicates that I'm connected to the internet but there is a yellow notification on the far left of the main screen of printer. When I click on that it says "Checking Registration Status" afterwards it says the Printer has NO internet connection and that I should set Proxys if I have them but I never used Proxys before and never set them on this printer (It's defaulted at Automatic). I have internet as my laptop and computer are working fine with it and the printer shows that it's connected to WIFI, why am I getting "No Internet Connection" message? I also can't print anything because my printer needs to re-enroll on HP instant ink but i can't do that if the printer isn't connected to my wifi.

Thanks all for the help!

@kent1417, Welcome to the HP Support Community! I’m here to help.

I see that the printer has a message that says it is not connected to the internet. Let us try these steps:

  • Restart the router, the printer, and the PC

On the printer screen, go to Setup > Network Setup > Restore network settings

Go back to Network > Wireless > Wireless setup wizard and select your network.

  • Make sure the printer and the Mac are connected to the same wireless network. Either 2.4 or 5GHz network.
  • If you have a Dual-band router and both 2.4GHz and 5GHz networks share the same name/SSID, the printer will not be able to connect to the network. In this case, contact your Internet service provider to assign different names to both networks.

For assistance with enrollment, refer to - Enrolling in HP Instant Ink

Hope this helps! Let me know how it goes.

I'm having the same problem. My printer is connected to wireless but when I go to the icon on the far lefthand side on the 8610 (checking registration status) it says I'm not connected. I'm trying to update the firmware and it won't allow me to highlight my printer to do the download. I have a printer cartridge error but I have tried three different cartridges and it's still saying it.

@Sarah0321

Did you perform the steps mentioned in my previous post?

Are you able to print from your computer or mobile device?

What is the exact error regarding the ink cartridge?

Are you using HP inks?

Keep me posted for further assistance.
